The Personal, Home, Social and Formal Relations Questionnaire (PHSF)

This questionnaire determines the degree of adjustment of high school learners, students and adults in four main areas, viz. personal, home, social and formal relations and contains 12 components, viz.:

• Self-confidence;
• Self-esteem;
• Self-control;
• Nervousness;
• Health;
• Family Influences;
• Personal Freedom;
• Sociability-G;
• Sociability-S;
• Moral Sense;
• Formal Relations, as well as a
• Desirability Scale.

The individual is in constant interaction with himself and his environment. The development of healthy relations within the self and between the self and the environment indicates healthy adjustment, while maladjustment occurs when these relations are ineffective, unsuccessful and immature.

Norms

Stanine norms are given per scale, separately for boys and girls. Grade groups (10, 11, 12) are collapsed where applicable.
